Hon Paul Caica
Minister for Environment & Conservation, River Murray & Water, South Australia
Paul Caica was first elected to the South Australian Parliament as the Member for Colton in 2002, and was re-elected at the 2006 and 2010 State elections. Following the 2010 State election saw Paul appointed as Minister for Environment and Conservation, Minister for the River Murray and Minister for Water. Paul has previously served as Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education, Science and Information Economy, Youth, Gambling, Volunteers, Industrial Relations, Regional Development, Forests and Agriculture, Food and Fisheries.
Paul attended Henley Primary and Henley High Schools, before graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985. Prior to his election to Parliament, Paul was a firefighter for almost 20 years. Between 1991 and 1997, he held the full-time position of Secretary of the South Australian United Firefighters Union and between 1998 and 2002 he held the position of National Secretary of the United Firefighters Union where he represented Firefighters on a national basis. Paul is married with two sons.
