I was very pleased with the exposure that SMEC received during the conference and benefit that SMEC enjoyed in being able to be a part of the conference and also the opportunity to network with many delegates from the mining and infrastructure sectors.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 13, 2011

NSW Major Projects Conference is one of the largest and most successful infrastructure conference in NSW.  Almost 200 delegates have already confirmed their participation at this year's conference due to be held on 24-25 October 2011 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.

New South Wales is identified as the Premier State, however, for too long the state has failed to develop real integrated plans and deliver key projects. In order to overcome on going infrastructure challenges, the new Government in power has developed their ‘Five point action plan’ which they promise will Rebuild the Economy, Return Quality Services, Renovate Infrastructure, Restore Accountability and Protect the Local Communities.

The two day conference will showcase the Liberal Parties commitment for improving the states infrastructure plan by the means of identification, prioritisation and delivery of critical public infrastructure. The Conference will provide the ideal opportunity for the public and private sector to come together and discuss the plans, policies and vision for the future infrastructure of NSW.

Presentations from leading government and industry specialists will explore the needs, planning, design, construction and delivery of major projects as well as a strategic analysis of the opportunities and challenges that will define these ambitious expansions for accelerating New South Wales development.

The Conference will focus on major projects that are currently being worked upon as well as projects that are in the pipeline in the sectors of Housing, Education, Health, Buildings, Justice, Transport, Ports, Water, Sustainability, Energy and Urban Planning.  Speakers at the Conference include Minister Chris Hartcher,  Chris Lock from Department of Transport, Richard Pearson from Department of Planning & Infrastructure, Dan Flemming from NBN, Kerry Marshall from Department of Attorney General & Justice, Wesley Stevenson from RTA, Dr Robert Lang from Parramatta City Council and many others.
